Browser Configuration Instructions: Internet Explorer 7

Caching is something most browsers are configured to do by default in order to save bandwidth. Storing images and text in your local computer's memory can be a good thing, but can cause confusion and frustration when trying to use a browser to update your website and the content doesn't change even after making specific changes! The following instructions will allow you to configure your browser and prevent it from caching old data when working with PAW and will help ensure you see the latest updates you are making to your website within the PAW application.

Configure Internet Explorer 7 to not cache webpages:

Click on "Tools" in the menu bar, then on "Internet Options". A box will pop up with a number of tabs. Under the "General" tab you will see a section on this page called "Browsing history" wth two buttons: "Delete... ", and "Settings".

Click on the "Settings" button, and a new box will pop up with a number of settings. Where it says "Check for newer versions of stored pages", select the option labeled "Every time I visit the page". Now press "OK" to exit each of the pop up windows.

As a final precaution, with Internet Explorer in focus, hit Ctrl-F5 to reload the current page to clear your existing cache.
